    Windows XP .....

    end of support for this ...my old laptop not up to windows 8 upgrade

    so, been told to just avoid IE and Outlook express and I might be ok...for a while..

    anyone any other ideas...?

    Main question I would ask is what do you use it for?

    Personally if me then I would stick linux on it. Not for everyone though.

      I agree, if its just surfing the net, and word processing, then just stick Ubuntu on it, you may actually like it, plus it will be faster.

      Ubuntu can do loads more, but the basics for what you may require are all covered. Wont take long to get the hang of it.

          When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.
