Hi all

Security and encryption was a sphere I worked in and passwords are always a weak point for many users. Some of the things I have seen

Anyway if you get fed up of trying to use secure passwords and having a different one for each site or application then worry no more. Go to Lastpass and get their free password software. It is secure and you just need to remember one secure master password. It is safe, all encryption is performed locally so it cannot be hacked. Steve Gibson of GRC.com gave it the thumbs up and he is very fussy about something being secure.

You can pay for the premium version if you want to use it on a SmartPhone but on your PC it is free, no hidden costs or caveats!

I use blow fish encryption software using an original password, then use password keeper to store the hashed passwords for each program/file/site.

Password keeper is also password protected with 1 main password, so only need to remember 1 password.

I guess if you were really paranoid you could encrypt password keeper also and write the new password down somewhere lol

I just keep a gpg encrypted text file listing my important passwords in several locations. i.e. backed up, on each comp, removable drive.....

Lastpass Firefox addon is quite good though.
