  • Help with broadband please

Daughter has recently moved into a rental flat, she was going to get broadband fitted but has been informed that the landlords don’t allow any installations which involve drilling into the property or wires etc.

What is the alternative, is it mobile broadband? There is currently a little 3 box plugged into the mains but that is due to be disconnected by the previous Tennant as the contract has been ended and she doesn’t really know much about it as her ex partner set it up.

We have contacted 3 who said they are no longer providing this service in that area.

Is it called mobile broadband that we need to look for then? Sorry if this seems an obvious question but I am not really savvy with this type of thing.

Does the flat have a phone line? I have broadband with no drilling or new permanent fixtures.

Wifi is built into MOB's and computers
probable a good idea to go into the MOB shops and talk about their options

You can also phone up BT or Virgin or any of the mobile providers and ask. I generally find that using Mobile phones ( I assume that is what MOB means), as a hotspot , particularly indoors is not the best.

It is also worth checking with the LL if they do not want the value of their property enhanced by having a phone line installed.

            Get wireless Internet | Find wi-fi hotspots | BT Wi-Fi (btwifi.com)
This means being able to link to a BT Hotspot

If you have BT or EE broadband you can sign into EE hotspots free . Similar with Sky so vaper if you have these your daughter may be able to log in if there are hotspots nearby.
              Google no phone line broadband

That’s the problem with EE , they think they are premium and therefore charge premium prices. When they get it right they are pretty good.
