Ozempic 0.5mg is an injectable drug that is put under the skin and is used to treat people with type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, is what makes Ozempic work. Semaglutide works by increasing the production of insulin, decreasing the production of glucagon, and slowing down the emptying of the stomach. As a result, blood sugar levels drop and food stays in the stomach longer, making you feel full and lowering your hunger to help you lose weight. You can take Ozempic with or without food, and it is generally given once a week.
