They got nothing better to do Di, from what we read now you may as well go straight to appeals - good luck with your sons.

          Thank you all so much.

Hopefully as it is a renewal with no changes of anything, as all is still the same, they will continue to award the usual.

Just hope it doesnt go as far as an appeal like the very first time we applied for it some years ago, even went to tribunal and felt so humiliated.

          Cheers so much folks xx

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if you can track down the progress of DLA online?
            Never thought of it before.

              Re: DLA/New forms arrived!

Okay, I know its only been over 3 weeks or so, since they received the form, but am getting very nervous now.
Anxiety is starting to kick in lol.

Was reading on another forum, that someone that had posted their child/adult form renewal just after me received the acknowledgement letter like I did, but they've also received a letter to ask them for more information too.
I know it can vary from one to another, but waiting for that post everyday is so agonising.

dont think you can Di now...

You can email them and they normally reply within a day. Just tell them name, national insurance number and address and they can look it up and let you know how far the claim etc is along the line

                    Re: DLA/New forms arrived!

I did leave an email the other day, but no response as yet, maybe Monday now I should receive some feedback.

Just to ask, does anyone know if they write to let you know - for example if they want further info from specialists etc, do they keep you informed by letter to confirm this, if they have done this?

                      Re: DLA/New forms arrived!

Was told that my son's file is now in the run of work waiting to be done, and if the decision maker does not require any further information, we should receive a decision by mid November.

They are currently dealing with claims as dated from 06 Sept 12, and my son's is 21 Sept 12.

Anxious wait, but see what happens lol.

                        Re: DLA/New forms arrived!

                        Decision letter arrived today.

Original award of DLA runs out Jan 2013, and they have awarded my son again from that date with same rates of High Rate Care & Low Rate Mobility until 2018.

Was expecting an indefinate award to be honest, so not a bad result, and they didnt want any further info either.
