    Re: Mortage underpayment

OK, let us know what the letter says as sometimes they'll say things on the phone that they can't put in writing. As it was a formal complaint they will need to properly justify their decision and inform you that you can escalate it to the FOS if you don't agree. That will cost them £500...far more than they're arguing about. How ridiculous!

      Re: Mortage underpayment

Wondered why I hadn't seen a letter, someone had put it somewhere where I didn't see it!

Basically saying I need to arrange a payment plan and they will mark my credit file.

Interesting part is that they say they didn't set the arrears process in motion is that they only have to do it when an account gets to 1.5 months in arrears. Well it's been in arrears for nigh on two years!

Worth me scanning the letter to see what the best response would be?

      Thanks

Next question is how do I go to the FOS?

Anyone suggest exactly what I need to communicate and what is the process?

            Thanks

Anyone? I really have no idea how to involve the FOS?

                  Hi RTB,
                  Sorry, I missed your update..

Could you scan and post up their letter with personal details removed?

                          Hi RTB,
Time to go to FOS. There's no guarantee they'll take your side, but it's still worth pursuing I think.

Use the link PlanB gave you to check out the process , then construct the complaint based on the letter I did for you. Once you've done that, post it up and we'll tweak it if necessary before you submit it. It needs pointing out that they have stated that their arrears procedure kicks in after "1.5 months" but clearly this didn't happen.

See how you get on with that, I'm a bit tied up with stuff at home at the minute but I'll be back to normal Thursday, so if you get stuck I can help you with the complaint then..hopefully PlanB will be looking in again too as she's the housing guru

                              Oh joy!

The Nationwide have separated the home insurance from the mortgage from the 1st April. Have rang up to arrange payment etc to be told that the 1st months premium has already been debited from my account.

                              Me: What account?
                              Them: your nationwide flexaccount
Me: I don't have a flexaccount any more, you magicked the overdraft into a CCJ and CO as you didn't think I was repaying enough.
Them: Oh. Well it's certainly being processed.
Me: And I cancelled the DD.
                              Them: Oh.

Sigh. Is there no level of incompetence this lot can sink to? I expect they'll now be chasing me for returned DD charges!

                                Unbelievable!!

I'd maybe hold off on the FOS complaint and tackle them on this first as it's part of the same issue, then tell FOS everything...
