So after few days not replying, they have called me back today!

I have asked them why the snip they have provided is for different amount that I have been approved and they again started telling me lies how many times they have tried to send money but it did not go through due to error so they have tried different amount which is different by around six hundreds. But before they will send me, I have to pay them back this amount. Can you believe it? Obv they will provide a different account number.

It is unbelievable and I really wish to do something with more than just reporting because we do not know if something will be done with it.

By the way the way how they have spoken with me like with friend! 'Listen man, you have to send this back to us man, etc'. Unbelievable!
Are they having a laugh??? So you have to send them what back?

I have not told them and I will not, I have just pretended that I will pay to receive bank details, now I have received a details to another person - woman this time; they have also asked if I can pay first on post office, I said no (I think they wanted to avoid giving me next details); they have said I have 30 min for paying as this reference expire after 30 min so they have to send me new account number lol
I will try to contact Action Fraud and update.

Am I being silly, but are they asking you to pay money back to them, which they haven't paid to you, or at least you've not received?

This has all the hallmarks of money-laundering so best not to pay them anything, although I think you've already decided that

I would contact your bank again and ask/demand to speak to the Fraud Team. Give them the full story including sort codes and account numbers etc. Let them investigate.

If you've alerted the bank then you should avoid a situation where you unwittingly end up with a CIFAS marker for money-laundering.

This could be an innocent chaotic loan provider (which isn't authorised by the FCA) but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I think they are defo chancing their arm, if someone transfers money into your account it shows almost immediately.

Thank you, I will. I have spoken yesterday with bank on live chat, but I may have a trip tomorrow there and try to speak with Fraud Team. Do you think there would be a chance to receive these money back even if it has been made by transfer?

Yeah, first they sent me that funny snip shot saying they have sent money so I have emailed them back asking why the amount is bigger and anyway I have not received it! So they called me back saying this is because 4375£ could not go through so they have tried different but I have to pay that difference and they will send money then. I think they have started confused themselves as this is completely nonsense!

Of course, I am not paying them anything else. I just tried to gain more details but you are not believe - they have recalled that email from 30 min with new details so I have no email now. But... good I have made screen shot so I have it saved ha!

I have just updated report in AF and I am doing FCA as it did not work properly few days I do not know why.

Reporting them to police would gain something or it is pointless?

I can't say whether or how you will recover your money, but I can suggest you call the FCA to report this on 0800 111 6768 option 2, followed by # , followed by option 4, to speed things up.

When you speak to your bank it may make sense to tell them not to accept payments into your account from any suspicious third party accounts because the consequences of money-laundering are serious.

Or it may be a case of fraud (not money-laundering) in which case your bank and the FCA should liaise with the relevant police authorities.

You seem to have established a good paper trail which will be helpful.

If it turns out to be innocent, then you may be better off looking for a different remedy to managing the loans etc taken out in your name by your ex-partner. Cross each bridge as you get to it.

                    Hello All,

I see that since myself and Di contacted the Financial Conduct Authority regarding Concept Loans, the FCA have now added the company to their list of unauthorised firms.

The page can be found here - https://www.fca.org.uk/news/warnings/concept-loans

It appears our concerns were correct and it is notable the FCA have acted quickly in adding the firm to their list, with what appears to have been very little investigation required for them to reach a decision.

You may not be successful in recovering any money you paid them (I think Stress Free did?), but at least you may get some satisfaction if the police take action.

You should also be proud of the part you played in exposing the business which may have saved a lot of others from losing money.

If you are contacted by Action Fraud or the FCA for information (since you reported Concept Loans) then post on your thread, because it would be good to know if this is taken further.

You also alerted your bank who you described as not being exactly helpful at the time. If there are any future issues with your bank (i.e. suspicious transactions since you gave Concept Loans your personal information) then you will now have the evidence to challenge them, if appropriate.

Exactly a year ago you reported this business to the Fraud Team at your bank, and to Action Fraud, so I'm curious to know whether you ever did get back the money you paid to Concept Loans, and also whether the police became involved?
