keep a close eye on your credit file for searches from companys you don't know.
this company now knows a lot about you.

I will do, I know I was stupid & shouldn't have disclosed the details, it all seemed fine till they asked for £150 upfront then alarm bells started ringing.

Hey, don't beat yourself up about it, they are quite clever about ihow they do it,
Your not the first and I doubt very much that you will be the last.

At least your alarm bell rung loud enough for you to stop and ask about it, many would of carried on and then said," I thought it was too good to be true".

it just annoys me that it is people who need the money that it happens to.

          best wishes NW

Maybe give your bank a call just to be safe.

Tell them to contact you if anyone new tries to set up an electronic/paperless Direct Debit which wouldn’t require your signature.

It’s probably fine, but better safe than sorry.

              (Save the email exchange too.)

                Hi

I have done that and have checked with my online banking and all seems to be fine.

I think they just wanted me to transfer money into their account and i'd never have seen it again.

Yesterday, I tried to contact them by phone as a mystery shopper but the phone number on their website doesn't connect you to anyone.

So I contacted the FCA and they are now investigating the business.

I'll post on your thread if I hear anything further, but keep those emails for the time being.

Did they give you their bank account details to pay the money into?

If anyone reading this has had the same experience as Coolio1981 then please post on this thread or start a new one.

No they didn't give me bank details as I told them I couldn't afford to pay the £150 upfront, they said we can hold the application till you are ready and then email us back and we can give you the account number and sort code to make the transfer.

You have to pay the 1st installment of this loan directly into the
company's account through your online banking as we are the direct
lenders and we can't take your card numbers over the recorded line.
Once you are ready to make the payment you can let us know and we will
                      send you the bank details.

Once you are ready to make the payment you can let us know and we will
send you the bank details and after you cleared this installment we will
be able to transfer your funds to your bank account within 30 minutes.

We can hold this application and you can arrange this money as according
to your credit scores without paying this installment you will not be
able to access the funds from your bank account.

That is the emails I received and that's when alarm bells started ringing.

They also sent me a like advising they where registered with companies house.

I am not in arrears with any of them, I am just getting fed up of paying all my money to all different people, if you get me? My credit rating is poor though as I have a few defaults from years ago on it.

I just wanted one payment going out rather than all diff ones.

So none of these accounts have been defaulted - those defaults which are currently on your credit file are from the past/other closed accounts?

It seems you may have had a narrow escape with the potential consolidated loan provider which you approached online, but you still would like to know what to do about the credit cards, loan, PDL and catalogue accounts etc which is why you went looking for a loan in the first place.

Yes that is correct from years ago when I was silly.

I won't be looking for anymore loans, I am just going to buckle down and get the stuff paid off asap, will involve a few cutbacks but nothing I won't be able to live without.
