    Re: Another Lending Stream thread.

    Hi again.

I've not sent that email just yet. I just wanted to check with you after my last post if that email was still the right one to send.

I appreciate that everyone has their own lives to lead and own problems to solve, just posting again in this thread in case my last post was missed.

    Many thanks again.

Hi, the email doesn't imply or mislead anything, so send it. You were economical with the truth, they were negligent in their checks!

it is a big leap of faith to discuss errors and failures, either real or imagined. Just remember no one will judge you here, no one knows who you are and lots of us have financial regrets. Many posters have been in situations that can relate to you, so be open and ask questions as you need to understand what and why you are doing things.

SnV is excellent when it comes to PDLs.

        Thanks for your help.

I've sent that email. If I hear back from them I will of course make another post on here.

        Thanks again

Nothing new to report on this front. After I sent that email, I've not heard back from them regarding this loan. No money has left my account either.

I was in absolute disbelief though to receive a text from them this morning saying "because of my good standing, I am eligible for another loan".

They clearly think you are going to give over your debit card details, and have not sussed them out.

Ah. I spoke too soon. Just received an email from them

We apologize for the delayed response and thank you for your email.

We would like to inform that you have one active loan, with the agreement number *********

If you are going to enroll with a Debt Management Company or CBA, we would request you to please send us the necessary documentation as we require the same before we can consider temporarily freezing the charges on your account. It is in your best interests to contact your Debt Management Company and ask them to send us the required documents along with an authorization letter from you at the earliest by any of the following means.

They then provide all the usual details that they've done before.

              Any advice?

              Thanks again.

                Re: Another Lending Stream thread.

Just a quick update following on from my last post. I've received another two emails from them.

Yesterday was supposed to be my first payment towards the loan. The first email notified me of a "notice of default sums" and the second was that they couldn't acquire the money out of my account (which makes me really glad I contacted my bank after they said they'd cancelled payment requests) and that I'd been charged 12 quid.

                Thanks.

And they're back. So much for cancelling my CPA.

                    Needless to say I don't have £172.

(Sorry, I would normally quote the email, but for some reason it just wasn't allowing me.)

                      Hiya

If it were me I would consider opening a new bank account if possible (not linked to your current one), and get your money paid into the new account. Even though the CPA may be cancelled, and you eventually get the money refunded, it means nothing tbh if they are successful clearing out your bank account and you're left with nothing to pay for food/fuel etc.

Is this something you can do?

                        Hi.

                        Thanks for your reply.

It is something I could ask about next time I'm at the bank. I need to pay off my overdraft on my original account first though, just in case that would affect opening a new one. Unless I just go to a different bank.

I have checked my account and nothing has been taken out of it, so so far it does look like my bank are sticking to their side of the CPA being cancelled.

Edit: Just had a "eureka moment". I've got another account with a different bank already which I haven't used for a long while. Time to use that again methinks!

Old account was still open, so I've ordered a new card and once that arrives, I'll transfer all my payments (well, the only one I have!) to that account.

In the time being I have emptied my current, current account. Just to be on the safe side.

                            Well, 1st October.

I've got my Notice of Default Sums again, a warning of a late payment charge and texts, voice mails and emails notifying me that they are still trying to take payment out of my account.

I'd like to repeat how grateful I am for the advice given earlier on in the thread about cancelling my CPAs at the bank. If I'd just took LS's word for it, I'd be screwed right now.

I've just completed the CAB Payday Loan survey that Cecilia linked to in another thread. I answered it honestly using the same information I have supplied in this thread and it said I may have grounds for a complaint.

Something worth thinking about I guess.
