    Petrol should drop to £1 a litre before Christmas if retailers "do the right thing" and pass on savings from the lower oil price, the RAC has predicted.

      Just off on family visits, so should make 600 miles a bit cheaper! Hope it covers heating oil as well.

        Supermarket chain Morrisons has cut the price of diesel to below £1 a litre - its cheapest since 2009 - and Asda and Tesco will follow suit on Monday.

          been paying 99.8p at asda for weeks now also Sainsburys

            Here in the US I've been paying $1:88 a GALLON (approx £1.28 ) for the past month, Okay a US gallon is less than a UK gallon but even if the UK cuts it to below £1 per litre we are still getting royally ripped off .....

              Yep! remember ICI petrol in 1966 @ 4 shillings & 6 pence a Gallon @ Barny Castle
