Just got a letter telling me that Barclaycard have transferred ( whatever that means ) my account to Hoist Portfolio who will be asking Robinson Way to act on their behalf.

Oddly on the back of the letter Barclaycard state they're transferring the account to Robinson Way, no mention of Hoist Portfolio.

Statute barred some time in September I believe

That's probably why the account has been assigned to Hoist to beat the Statute Barred clock. Hoist like to issue claims so let's analyse the situation for you in the hope of preventing one or making sure you're in a good position legally speaking if they do.

The letter you've received sounds like a Notice of Assignment.

Hoist is a debt purchaser. Robinson Way is a Debt Collection Agency acting on behalf of Hoist (who own them). If Barclaycard has sold your debt to Hoist it will be Robinson Way pestering you for payment on their behalf.

Can you link to a forum post which sets out the history of this account please. You have several threads for various Barclaycard/Egg debts so I can't figure out which one it is. I can see one account was sold to MKDP a while ago so which one is this?

The balance outstanding on the letter ought to be able to give you a clue.

Hi Di, the account is definitely for Egg so it's this thread. The letter seems to be a notification of transfer and not the transfer itself as there's very little on the paperwork, no amount just the last 4 digits of the card.

And I do have the letter from Barclaycard admitting they can't fulfil the S78 request.

I'm glad you're now more certain it was your Egg card since your post # 20 this evening said you thought it could be your "Barclaycard Barclaycard" one.
