You see, you can make Plans to move to a Foreign Country..... you think you have thought of all the pitfalls and dangers but you just don't think that being crept up on by a Walrus is among them ! pmsl !!

That phrase ... 'Mind you don't get surprised by a Walrus' ... may go into refular Family use !!

Morning all ( just, ahem, Village Festa this weekend ! ) just an update.
Those DCAs I gave my eMail to and said 'keep in touch' have basically said 'bugger it' and dissappeared. The PDLs which should have known better have lost their bet and have provided an absolutely text-book example of how to break every Guideline going.

We were also asked to 'visit our nearest Branch' by one of the Banks, to confirm change of address. We have asked for the address of the nearest branch and will issue a Complaint based on their failure to protect our Data as they seem to be happy to write to a PO Box in Portugal !

Still, all good and, as I said before, keep up the good work and keep kisking the DCAs as their sink slowly to their knees.

Pleased to hear all is well. Enjoy the sun!
When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

Will still be on here from the sunshine though, well in the shade of the veranda.... sorry.

Good luck everyone, keep fighting them off. I have to say that, even without going to Portugal, I very much doubt that ANY of my £40K would ever have got to Court. Everyone just rolls over so easily if enough confusion is thrown down.

The letters on here are great for following the Process correctly. ..but it never hurts to refer to some non-existent corresondence, just keep it moving round in circles.

I sit here, on the veranda watching the cork oaks bend in the wind... alternating with periods of strong sunshine... munching my way through a bag of tangerines brought to us by a neighbour. They seem to bring stuff round in carrier-bags full Mrs Pepe had to make Jam with a load of excess lemons ( bloody good stuff too !).
Still amazed at the sudden full-stop executed by certain Creditors as soon as they got the new contact details.... and, thanks to the OFT's recent warning to them, a few PDL's who should have known better are now less likely to get any cash back than they were before ( which was nil anyway).
Seem to have landed a Consultancy job for 12V Solar Power, such as I have fitted to my house, with a new English neighbour opening up an Activity Camping Centre just down the River from us, will also be 'cleaning' ( pruning ) his Olive Trees for him in exchange for a couple of extra Solar Panels, bartering is obviously the word of the day here.

Having fun with RBS, Santander, and others for Mrs P seeing as none of mine want to play with me anymore

Keep it up, people .... and spread the word that the Banks can be beaten if you stick it to them hard enough.

Btw, who saw the news that The Labour Party have invited Errol Damelin ( Founder of Wonga ) to advise them on 'the problem of household debt' FFS, I don't think that charging people 4000% is an answer.... ( thanks Private Eye Magazine for that info )

Couldn't you go to one of those southern European countries and teach English to the locals, or maybe teach in schools attended by ex-pat children? There must be a need for the type of skills you've got out there.

I'm not sure whether I would want to move out to a place like that permanently or not. I'd definitely like to escape for a couple of weeks in the middle of the winter. I suppose it all depends on circumstances. Right now I couldn't leave the town I am in because I absolutely need to be here. That could always change, for a variety of reasons.

This winter has been one of the worst I can ever remember for weather. I got up this morning, at Easter, and there was still snow lingering on the grass outside. At times like these, you do start to wonder whether a permanent move might not be a bad idea....

Sorry for the dealay in catching up or replying, bloody Portuguese Weather ! We have given the Donkey a sound whipping round the treadmill and have restored power.
It just keeps tripping the Inverter on the Solar when I use the angle-grinder, laptop, washing machine and fridge simultaneously......still it is free power !

The PDL comedy continues, out of 7 who should have known better only 3 continue any sort of contact.... make that 2 !
Sterling have dropped me like a shitty stone after sending them a beaut of a Complaint about their eMails on what is, quite clearly due to the address an open Account.
Anther one , QQ, has sent upwards of 30 '60 day' notices, they have stopped now because I have told them that I will complani about the fact that, after informing them of my 'no income, no job, status they continue to fill up my Inbox with Notices that cost me money to retrieve at the Internet Cafe...Ahem.
I have kindly offered Motormouth( Mile) the opportunity to make their Doorstep Visit to me at almost 2000 miles from their door, I have asked that if they send me about £600 I will arrange some flights, car hire and a Hotel. Well, I would, just not for them.... see I am trying to be helpful !!!
