Received a letter from Lewis 'Without Prejudice' offering a 50% reduction in the balance if I pay up before 5/3/2010.

I am tempted to counter with an offer of 20% but was wondering if in doing so, would it prejudice my positon regarding my UE stance if this were to end up in court.

Any advice much appreciated as ever.

Hi all - long time no speaky.

      Co-op visa - UE

      Quick update on the above.

I did as suggested (ignored their last letter offering 50% discount to settle ) - they have now written again 'without predjudice' offering the same settlement and advising me 'that it is a splendid oppurtunity for me to satisfy my liability'

I would like to send them something back - but I guess the advice will be to ignore as before.

      MBNA CC (mastercard) UE

Not heard anything on this for a while (Since MBNA wrote and told me Arrow were now the owners of my account) - i have now received a letter from Moorcroft 'notice of intended litigation' blah blah blah.
They do not mention which account it is - but I can tell from the balance claimed.
Will send 'em the 'threat of legal action' template and see what response that prompts.

                M&S's offer expires on 24/02/12.

Is it time to get this one settled or play a little more poker?

They want circa 1/2 the OS debt by 24/02/2012 I have offered circa 1/3rd.

Just to recap it is enforceable and has been going on a while now (offer / counter offer).

                Thanks in anticipation as ever,

                Matty.

                Morning Boss & others

M&S have written back - 'in view of my circumstances they are now prepared to accept £2000' in F&F of my debt.

I know you think this is a lot but as it is enforceable I am going to accept it so that this one is done.

It represents a saving of £4.6K on the current balance plus I have not made any payments for the last 20 months (20 x £150) nor have they added any further interest since July 2010 when I stopped paying.

All in all I think that this is a good result for me on this account.

Is there anything to watch out for?

They say that they will record that the 'default has been satisfied and that my account has been partially settled' - is this wording normal?
It just worries me a little that they can come back for more at a future date??

They say I can pay by over the phone by debit card or cheque.

Cheque is my preffered option c/w covering letter.

Any advice on what to watch out for / put in the covering letter would be much appreciated as ever.

                Cheers

                        MBNA V deemed UE
                        Balance £6k +
                        MBNA sold to Arrow

Letter recieved from Rockwell DCA - Arrow have instructed them to chase etc - my account has been pre-screened as suitable for litigation if I dont pay up PDQ etc etc.

Arrow have not written to me officially as yet - I just received a letter from MBNA informing me that they had sold the acount to Arrow and enclosed a letter with their details etc.

I am thinking threat of legal action template?

There is a twist with this one - If they do take me to court the account is subject to an ongoing PPI claim which has only been part settled by MBNA before they back heeled it to Arrow - Bet Arrow are not aware of this nor the fact that it will make a very nice counter claim.

Would you advise them of this or keep it up ones sleeve for a 'rainy day' ?

                        Thanks as always,

LOL prescreened as suitability for litigation.

Is that DCA talk for pre selected for a chance to win £250,000?

Maybe the same terms apply, and you have to be entered in to a prize draw before your selected LOL

Morning - hope everyone is well.

I have received a letter from Apex re my LTSB CC (Mastercard) - Deemed UE by his Nidship.

They are offering me a chance of a substantial discount to settle the account...blah blah.

They are DCA no 6 on this account.

I will send em a sold in dispute template and let em know that they are DCA no6 on this account.....maybe the penny will drop.
