she rang in the evening my mum didn't recognise the number so asked me to answer it i said she was in the shower she said I am calling from MBNA and will call again

If she rings again and says she'll call again then tell her to f**k off - that usually works... become abusive and they blacklist you from their automated call system (but I never told you that) - however seriously, send this for the moment: ---> viewtopic.php?p=178#p178

Hiya, yep - it's unenforceable as they sent an application form, well bearing in mind it was opened almost 15 years ago - i'd not expect them to be able to comply! :UE
