Can I just also add my tuppence worth to what Scabhunter and others have said.
The debts which I stopped paying completely have left me alone for over a year! The ones which hubby is party to, he refused to stop paying (through fear, ignorance etc) and they have continued to hound us. He pays "x" and they want "x+1". He misses a payment, and the phone rings constantly (well, I have a truecall machine, so I don't get the calls, but I can see they have run when I search through the history).
My point is, that dealt with correctly, the DCA's will, on UE debts at least, go and find easier prey to bother provided you stop paying and answer each of their "threats" in the correct manner.
