    Morning Maxed Out,
In your current position I guess it's all hypothetical.
Makes them feel better though, bless!

I think you probably answered your own question in your first post, Max....
Creditors usually stop interest after default but not always.
As they now know they've been sold a pup, as you say. they're probably pumping up the value on paper before selling it on to the next hapless DCA.
Or maybe they hope that you'll trip up and acknowledge the debt while querying it..

It'll look better for their balance sheets, Mint did the same with me.

If it's UE it's not gonna matter what they add on.

They can add what they like if they're not going to get it!

Like the others say, it's probably so they'll get more when they sell it on.

Checking credit files is a pointless exercise, IMO.... which is one of the reasons you were directed here....

As it's unenforceable anyway, there's not really much point... as Niddy says.

Just stop looking at that credit file.... and if you get a response to your letter or it's sold on to anyone else, let us know

                            Hi all,
I had a letter at the start of the month from HBOS saying they had sold the account ( Halifax card ) to Lowell Portfolio . HBOS said in the letter they had not been made aware of any reason why the debt should not be paid.
In a letter from Lowell they said befor selling the account to us HBOS checked the records and found no reason why the debt should not be paid . I dont think HBOS are telling the truth lol.
I ignored and have now had a letter from Lowell Financial saying they are dealing with it as iv not paid.
In my previous posts i explained i asked for a copy of my cca etc from HBOS. and they wrote back saying they could not provide one at this time.
Where should i go with this
                            Thanks maxedout

did you send a http://www.all-about-debt.co.uk/inde...firming-no-cca, if not i would send this to Lowells, enclosing a copy of the letter from HBOS. I usually outline the actual nitty gritty with a big pink marker, just so they don't miss it!

                                Thanks MrsD
I will send the above as advised by yourself.
I thought accounts were not to be sold if they were in dispute
                                Thanks maxedout
