      Re: Nationwide Charges

      Ok, email sent:

      Mr Graham Beale,
      Chief Executive of Natio
      nwide.

I am sorry to say that I have a complaint regarding the handling of my account, including my recent request to be reimbursed the charges made to my account during my past and ongoing financial hardships.

I have included all communication about this matter for your perusal and consideration.

To summarise, I requested that all charges made to my account between 2011 - present be refunded, due to severe financial hardship and because the money I was given was by benefits and Council housing allowance and should not of been taken by the bank for charges because of my hardship.

There are 2 issues that I have.

1, The inability to prove to your staff, despite further letters, that I was, and remain, in severe financial difficulties.

2, The staffs inability to comment on why my account has received further charges.

The answer I received after asking where the interest charges were coming from:

We are unable to provide the information you have requested regarding a breakdown of charge costs. This is due to the commercial sensitivity of such information.

I do not accept this as an answer, when the charges are in relation to my account. How am I supposed to ensure further charges are not applied to my account, if I do not know where the charges come from?

I bring this full matter to your attention, because my next action would be to involve the Ombudsmen on this matter, an action I am sure you would rather resolve in-house first.

I hope that I will have a prompt response to these matters, and await your reply.

      M

No I have not requested a SAR from Nationwide as yet.

Updating with all correspondence so far:

I labelled them A-O, not sure why I couldn't get them to view in the correct order though?!

                    Re: Nationwide Charges

That's cool Mark :-) Good for you.

Now if they fail to agree with you and provide you with the final decision, you should have the opportunity to complain to the FOS, hopefully it will not go that far, but if it does, ask for fast track due to your financial situation and health etc....

However, another direction to try before the FOS by giving them just 14 days - is to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank/business, and if they still fail you, then move on to the FOS.
The final decision should give you 6 months to complain to the FOS - as from the date on the final letter.

                    Good luck.

                      Re: Nationwide Charges

                      Hey Di30,

Thanks for the advice. I have emailed all the details etc to the CEO.

My first attempt got me an email to say their mail server couldn't handle the 9Mb attachment of documents, so I did each page individually, so thought as I had done it, may as well stick it on here, keep everything up to date Well, after a little trial and error as seen! lol

Just waiting now on all the companies Im dealing with, not just this one, so nice to have a small break

                          Re: Nationwide Charges

                          Ok, Just got their response.

Basically, we already gave you our final decision, if I'm still not happy, take up with the FOS.

What would be the next step then? FOS or give up?

As for the current interest charges being added, all I got was a bit of a highlight, still none the wiser tbh!

You might as well make a formal complaint to the FOS now

                                Re: Nationwide Charges

So all avenues have been taken then? and did they enclose the leaflet of how to complain to the FOS? I can see they mentioned the FOS and with that they should enclose the leaflet too.

I note you have made a start on making the complaint to the FOS, did you complete the FOS complaint form?
Hope you get more luck with these dealing with them now, fingers crossed. ;-)
