You need to forget small debts and consider the bigger ones, that's my point.

For the sake of £700 debt - why worry about it? Save yourself £2k then you'll be in a better position to haggle one of the big debts. Ideally let them bundle all 3 together and a £4-£5k offer would wipe the slate clean!!

hmm yeah i do, i just want to get rid of as much debt as i can, ive had the money so do owe it. and i like to get rid of the small ones first then i can see things getting sorted and feel im getting somewhere, once this goes i ob[nly have 2 cards left and feels better than 3! but yeah i see what your saying

Yea, rule 1 in debt consolidation - stop messing with the lender! Stop paying and let them sell it to a dca then haggle down to 20% via the dca. If you try and haggle with the bank they usually refuse, and why not when they already know you're easy to temp into silly acceptance of offers....

See what I'm saying here lol?

Yea that's the problem, you're setting a benchmark. As the big ones won't be settled, why the urgency to settle the small debt? Just agree to £10 per month and it'll be gone before the other two anyway!

It's a bum deal, alland recently went for a £2k settlement on a £10k debt, 20% is a good deal. 70% is pointless on a small debt.

You should NOT pay £500 for a £720 debt. They're taking the piss.

You ought to be looking at £250 maximum. It's a scam paying £500; refuse and say no!

Or agree to it then watch them take the piss with the other accounts.....

    Re: My Current DMP Plan

hi everyone, bit of an update, i rang Barclaycard last week to see what sort of offer they would accept after refusing my 2oo quid, they said 70% so ive offered £500 and they have just ranf me to accept, they are sending me a mail to confirm this will be a F&F settlement offer so just waiting for that to come through. Ive only saved £220 but its better in my pocket than theirs!!

Also they have agreed they can set me up on an agreed payment plan so will wait and see what they come back with on that one!

    Morning All

Had a reply from Barclays saying the would not accept my offer of £200 but if i was happy to increase they would consider a higher payment..yeah right, ill just grab my spare grand i keep down the back of the sofa!!!

BUT i have got a number on the letter so will be ringing them to see about a direct payment plan with them, seen as they conveniently forgot to mention that part of my request!

Hope everyone had a fab weekend x
