Yes that's true credit cards are just another noose around your neck, Natwest are the worst I have been banking with them for 20 years and the first difficult patch I hit they hit me with 2 defaults even after I offered to repay both accounts fully for not putting defaults on my file.its not like it was for £20,000, it was 900 combined. How long should settled defaults be before they has little impact on credit applications?

Yeah I know what you mean, although a few bad months and they punish you for 6 years is abit extreme I think, even 1 year down the line I will be in a much healthier financially
