You have a notice of correction against this entry so you must have appealed it with the CRA and left a NOC. When was this and what have you done?

Well I phoned up experian and told them that i know nothing about this and explained to them what I have said on here. They said they can not take it off unless the company tells them to. all they can do is put a NOC on my account untill this matter is sorted.
This was done this week...I would say wednesday. Shouldnt I have done this?

No thats fine - however with a NOC no lender will auto agree credit as it forces a manual override therefore do not apply for any credit right now - I mean anything

When they come back to you (within 40 days) then we'll work to the next level of disproval of the debt or whatever - can you though, for my own peace of mind, confirm if you did bank with Lloyds and if your old account number matches the last digits showing agianst the entry on Experian? Surely you'll have something, an old statement or similar - it was only a couple of years ago....

if not, no worries, but can you confirm if you did have a bank account and if you had an overdraft attached to it.

well its more than a few years, it was like 5-6 years ago. so in short no I do not anything with account information on it.
I did however have a bank account with them and with an overdraft. how much overdraft I can not remember. But I would say it was my account.

Well I will not be applying for any more credit until this matter is sorted.

No the default was a couple of years ago - have you moved since you last used the account? Or still at same address? Thing is, i'm looking for anything that would give rise to this unknown default, if you're at the same address then you'll have received statements, letters and a default notice (well questionable being it is Lloyds but you should have)....

              Are you telling us everything....?

Ergo, I asked if you recall anything as it was only a couple of years ago - a lender would not default you for that amount and not write once, so all I can think is you must have moved?

right - Well the account was closed in 2005 (to my knowledge) I moved 2 years later with no letters of any sort. I have moved a few times since then. But I have never received a letter from them. Also when I moved my parents did not (they moved out of that property where i opened the account this year) and they have never told me about Lloyds sending a letter to that address and knowing my mother she would of been striaght on the phone to me

exxperian gave me this address for Lloyds

                  Lloyds Bank
                  Consumer Debt Recovery
                  3 City Park
                  The Droveway
                  Hove
                  BN3 7AU

is this where I send the letter off to?

                    That explains it all now

So you're classed as "gone away" - you need to request the SAR using the address at the time, ie when you last used the account so try and think back!

Then come back to us.... I suspect you left it overdrawn and then moved, so nothing was sent to you as the bank never knew where you were.... does the address that this relates to show on Experian as well, it should do - as a linked address?

Yes it does - I was there near enough ten years. you say that the account was overdrawn, but I don't see how this was overdrawn considering it should of been closed. I do remember going in to the bank and closing it down. I closed it down as I was claiming all the bank charges back. Well I will send this letter off and once I get a reply I will post back on here. Thanks for your help Niddy.

Could it be that although you claimed the charges back they never actually agreed with your claim???? I assume that you where OD'ed at the time and you thought the claim would clear it?

hi, well I closed the account the applied for all the monies back. I wasnt able to shut the account untill it was closed. I have sent the letter off today so in due time I will find out why this has happened.

Im guessing that if everything is right on Lloyds TSB I will be stuck with the default.

You'll be stuck with it if you did leave a balance yes. Unfortunately......
