              Re: DCA Help

              Hi again

I received a letter this morning from Mercantile Data Bureau Ltd?? They say they are an associated company of DLC,contacting me about this unpaid debt. They say the account has been transferred to them due to continued failure to discharge my current liability and all future contact is to be made to them.Part of their process involves profiling accounts to pass to doorstep specialists who may arrange to visit my home, but they'd rather give me the opportunity to discuss the account over the telephone. They also urge me to contact them to conclude the matter as quickly as possible.

What should i do?? Any help appreciated,as always.

what account is this for? Please link to a previous post or at least tell us what's it relating to? Remember I see 100's of things daily and cannot recall all the details....

Ok, sorry - this is Barclays and DLC then yes? It doesn't matter if DLC sell it, just ignore them for now.

Sorry, yes send them a copy of the last letter you sent to DLC - with a cover note saying "see attached, same rules apply"

When did you last pay into this account/debt? by the way...?

That's what I thought and we need to get to 6yrs for statute barred, however you need to bear in mind they may try and say the fact you're replying to letters brings it out of status - it depends on what letters you send back, thus my apprehension at responding to them....

                            Make sense?

Yeah i see what you mean.I've been putting "i do not acknowledge any debt to your company" on every letter tho,so wouldn't that count as not acknowledging it maybe?

Thanks again for your help,i'll get the doorstep template copied and off to them this morning.
