    Sun sub-editors have walked out

In solidarity with colleagues at the News of the World, tonight Sub-Editors at The Sun newspaper have walked out of work in protest.

At the same time as the protest, inside the building, News of the World staff were being told about the redundancies.

The company has told staff they will receive a 90 day payment which covers the legally required consultation period for job cuts.

This exposes the cynical deceit of James Murdoch who earlier today said: “We will communicate next steps in detail and begin appropriate consultation.”

NUJ general secretary Michelle Stanistreet said: “This outrageous manipulation of the legal right to be consulted about redundancies shows the contempt that the Murdoch empire has for its loyal staff. True to form, he believes he can buy his way out of his obligations. This is an act of damage limitation to salvage Murdoch’s reputation and that of News International – both of which are now tarnished beyond repair.”

Lol amusing being most the staff are the old union (look back at the history to the late 80's)!!

They took over the old union block and took the staff too

Ah well as Niddy puts it, the ginger twat's legacy will be back in business shortly.

Funny that she is a neighbour and friend of conman Cameron in Oxfordshire and gets to investigate her own felonies. What has she got on him? She could be into children and treacherous turncoat Cleglett could be what she really wants.

    regards
    Garlok

Could not care less about the paper going to be honest as they have swollowed there own medicine, however what really pisses me off is those workers not the jouralists as they caused this mess, but the ordinary workers that are getting laid off through no fault of theres.

Indeed the paper has taken the easy option thinking it will all blow over, now there are
redundancies of press setters, printers, drivers and such like ordinary citizens that work hard for a living and who were not the cause of this.

I hope they take those that caused this mess to court as those redundancies were not called for because the business went bust indeed it was a healthy business.

What a mess the plot thinkens.

I doubt will be called that, but I'm sure there will be the something along those lines.

i.e. effectively a rebranding/relaunch, rendering todays media stunt a sham.
