As of today there's changes that apply to us all. Spam calls / texts!

Previously, the ICO only really had powers to fine firms if the calls made caused you damage in any way (other than civil procedures for harassment - think Roberts v Bank of Scotland). From today, that all changes. The ICO can now get involved regardless of any damage caused or not.

To stop these annoying calls first register your landline AND mobile to the TPS. If you then get calls / texts (after 30 days since registration to TPS) you can formally report the firm / number to OFCOM and ICO. If you get spam texts just forward them to SPAM (7726). Your mobile operator will then report them to the authorities.
