Experian has made its credit score service free for everyone to use as part of a new credit comparison service. The new service, CreditMatcher, enables consumers to find out the likelihood of being accepted for a deal, and the best deals available to them, before applying. Consumers will be able to compare loan, credit card and mortgage deals based on their credit score and criteria for lending.Products will be shown with an Experian eligibility rating, giving consumers greater certainty when they apply for credit and will help avoid unsuccessful applications. Experian said that multiple applications for credit can damage a consumers score and are visible to potential lenders who may view this as a negative factor when assessing applications. However, CreditMatcher leaves a soft search which lenders cannot see; opposed to a hard search usually recorded each time a consumer applies for credit.....
