Three people have been arrested in connection with an investigation alleging that an employee of insurer LV= passed on confidential customer information to a claims management company in return for money. Yesterday, a 24-year-old former LV= employee was arrested at his home in the Poole area on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position. On Wednesday, two claims management employees, a 22-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man, were arrested at an office in the Westbourne area of Bournemouth on suspicion of conspiracy to commit bribery and money laundering. The former LV= employee is accused of unlawfully selling confidential information regarding 50 third party road traffic collision victims to a claims management firm for a total of nearly £17,000. Road traffic accident victims are believed to have been contacted by a person they thought was an employee of LV= and their claims for vehicle repairs, courtesy cars and personal injuries were dealt with by a claims management firm.....Read more here
