The claims made by payday lender Payday Pig on its website have been branded “irresponsible” by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The company Stop Go Networks Ltd, which trades as Payday Pig, was subject to examination by the ASA. The issue was raised by a complainant who challenged the images of cartoon pigs along with the claim “treat yourself and a loved one to a weekend away and a slap up meal” for being irresponsible. This claim was perceived to trivialise the decision to take out a loan and encourage “frivolous” spending.
