Pensioners are still missing out on £5.5bn in benefits
The charity Age UK has hit out at the Government over figures showing that a staggering £5.5billion in benefits went unclaimed by pensioners last year. Michelle Mitchell at Age UK says that it is disappointing there has been no progress in pensioners getting the cash they are entitled to. The figure is scarcely changed from 2010. Age UK is calling on the Government to pay benefits automatically, rather than forcing pensioners to navigate the benefits system to make a claim.
