Energy watchdog Ofgem has stepped up an investigation into the way French giant EDF is dealing with complaints about new systems at its call centres. A similar inquiry into British Gas and npower led to fines of £2.5million and £2million respectively. But the extension of the EDF investigation to the three call centres suggests the regulator is concerned and that fines might be higher.
