The Cheltenham & Gloucester and TSB brands could disappear from the High Street under plans being drawn up one of Britain’s new banks. NBNK, the lender headed by City grandee Lord Levene, is considering axing the historic marques if it buys the branches Lloyds Banking Group is being forced to sell. It is understood that C&G and TSB would be phased out and the entire network rebranded in 2014 or 2015 if NBNK wins the auction of the branches.
