Hey now, no frights - no need to be frightened, at the end of the day you hold the ace card as it is you that they want to pay them, isn't it? Remember that - also if you're not happy with what someone says when they ring you (I mean anyone) then just hang-up! It's not illegal - just hang up!

You'll be fine, especially now you found us

        Only just seen this.

Metodo - follow Niddy's advice and you'll be okay.

Just to re-iterate what Niddy and LooLoo said - deal with them only in writing.

Remember to take care of yourself. Your daughters and yourself are what's important. Please don't make yourself ill with worrying over these loans.

        Good luck x

I wanted to thank you all for your kind support.

I also suffer with depression which doesn't help. On top of that I am very scatty too! However, at least I am doing something constructive about these debts.

Sent both e-mails this morning so I will update you guys with any replies!

              Re: Approaching Payday Loans

Good news! Wonga have accepted my repayment plan.
Pounds til payday e-mailed me and asked me to contact them. Interesting, since I emphasized I only want to communicate by e-mail.

The whole issue has made me realize how important it is to stick to a budget.

Can I thank you guys again! Thank you!

                Re: Approaching Payday Loans

Having problems with Pounds til Payday. First of all they sent me an e mail stating they do not reply to e mails. I telephoned but did not find them very helpful.
Basically, the man said they do not accept repayment plans. I have heard they go out their way to be unhelpful.
He said at the moment my money is showing as going through. (I have canceled the direct debit payment) It will not show until two days. Then he said the collection team will contact me if it does not go through.
In a way I suppose its easier if its referred to a collection agency. The impression I get is PTP do not negotiate.

I am trying not to feel intimidated. I need to concentrate on my priority debts. Any ideas?!

I thought I explained, DO NOT RING THEM!

They are trying their luck, you email that letter and if they reply, send it again and keep sending the same thing over and over until they do accept - they will, if you follow my advice and ringing them is not what we do!

No more phone calls to them, please? Just ignore them now and await collections contacting you, and when they do (they'll ring you) you then answer, refuse security and tell them to read the bloody emails as you aint talking to them on the phone then hang up.....

That's how you deal with this, you cannot be intimidated if you don't speak to them, can you?

                      Re: Approaching Payday Loans

I have done a little research regarding Pounds til Payday. They are based in Malta to try and bypass British and Canadian laws. They do not negotiate and can make threatening calls. From what I have read you can only negotiate when they refer the debt to a collection agency. Also they charge 68 pounds for each missed payment. I think its very sad that Companies like that exist.

I know all this; as I say stick to the plan and you'll be fine.

They sell it within 8 weeks and then we haggle arrangement via their chosen dca minus the £68 charges! See what happens, don't stress - Itll be fine

                          Hi Niddy

Just to let you know I have received a standard e mail from pounds til payday today.
Do I respond? It basically says if I repay today in full I can take out a new loan!
Don't think they have read my e-mail properly!
