It was with real sadness that over the holiday period I was forwarded a news article about a young man, Naseeb Chuhan, who tragically took his own life, partly as a result of debt worries he had from taking out multiple payday loans, and the subsequent harassment he received being unable to repay them.
As someone who has battled payday loan companies for the last 10 years (and am still battling them), this for me is beyond tragic.
Each year I read about these tragic circumstances where people feel they have no choice but to take their own lives due to debt problems.
No debt is worth a life, worrying about payday loans is most certainly not worth a life, but such is the pressure the collections arms of these companies (and the DCA's) put people under.
So, especially in the middle of the 'silly season' if you're someone reading this who is in a similar position please please post, and someone here will help you. No debt is worth taking your life for, no matter how dark the days may seem, how irrecoverable you think your situation is, there are ALWAYS other options to deal with debt and there are many people who prove that.
