    Re: Car Loan

Sorry I am here I have been a bit swamped.. anyway just worked out some figures this could be possible but it would depend on the type of car and what your looking at.

Right, how car finance works is simples what they do is look at ratio to risk so for example

if your looking at a car for 5k your risk is less than 15k

I can give you a name of a finance company that would most likely lend to you. let me PM you

      Hi Jen,

I tried to reply to your PM, but for some reason the system will not let me?

      Sorry.

Just wondering if anyone has had any recent success in obtaining a car loan with a history of bad debt/defaults?

I've been looking at carloans4u, but there are mixed reviews and the APR is very very high.

The car is a necessary evil I'm afraid as my partner works shifts and there is no public transport available at these times, our current banger is 12 years old now and our local mechanic has confirmed that it's not likely to reach it's 13th birthday.

        Thanks in advance as always.

        Hi All,

Just an update on this - the car is now dead, it's gone to that great car park in the sky!

Carloans4u are prepared to lend money but at a whopping 33.9%. ouch, ouch, ouch.

Does anyone have any other suggestions/experience recently with different providers that may be able to assist?

        Thanks as always.

Snudger what kind of situation are you in now?

Are you on the electoral roll for a decent amount of time? Have you looked at a mainline dealer?

and refresh my memory what was wrong with your CH how old we talking.

            Hi Jen,

Thanks for your reply. Current situation is:

            1. My position remains the same.
            2. I am unemployed.
            3. I am not on the electoral register.
            4. The mortgage is in my name only.
            5. Most recent defaults 15 months ago, (as per my diary).

            1. My partners position.
            2. Is in full time employment, same employer for ten years.
            3. Is on the electoral register.
            4. Most recent defaults 3-4 years ago.
            5. Has one live credit credit card, no missed payments but up to the max.

The car was applied for in her name only.

            Hope this helps.

            Regards

Hi is there a financial link between you two have you ever checked your CF or her CF. Does shes earn enough to qualify for the vehicle? How many defaults does she have - are they settled?

              Are you married?

Sorry just trying to get the best picture here.

Hi Jen, thanks for the reply.

                Not married.

She has three defaults, they are all in dispute via the unenforcibility templates. None have been settled.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a financial link between us, we have no joint accounts/defaults. Checked both CF'S about 6 months month ago could see no financial link other than address.

She does earn enough to qualify for the car, Carloans for you we're prepared to lend £6k but like I say interest rate is mental.

                Hope this helps.

                Thanks again

                  Re: Car Loan

Yes this would be down to her defaults then it seems.

You can go to a mainline dealer and ask them who they use for Subprime some of them have specialty firms in Ireland and the likes that are quite good with dealing with Defaults etc. Manxfi comes to mind.

Be honest with the dealer this will help your case.

Thanks for the advice. Will try a dealer as you suggest.
