Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
Just exported my transactions as Excel - during the 10 months I've had it, I've had £15k in direct deposits from (primarily) myself... average deposit transaction size of £350.
A monthly Direct Debit out to try and prove I'm sensible (only £1)

Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
NID your random number generator on that pic is slightly below mine.... does that mean I have a chance???
Obviously I've been BR so presumably that's worse than 20 odd defaults??
Opened a Barclays Cash Account last August, so hoping it'll be up for an automatic upgrade soon? Would it be worth leaving a grand or so in it for the next few months to help it along the way?
When I go online I get the following message, presumably because I'm on a Cash Account. If I took my payslip into branch would it actually be worth doing, or is it just generic?
Also have a H2B ISA there, about £3.5k.... surely that *should* help internal score?!
I applied for a full Current Account ages ago, it said something about pending until I go into branch, presumably declined.... do I need to actually sort that out, or will it not affect the upgrade?

Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
They've not performed their monthly feeds yet. Wait 3-6 months mate. It takes time as the cash account was never credit SCORED. The new account will be at monthly feed due to no initial scoring taking place. If you apply for a full account right now they'd do a full score and then the OD may be instant. As an upgrade its a different process.
Just sit tight 3-6 months.

Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
Oh! on investigation no overdraft of £25.00 but the £25.00 in account due to comment I made that their account pin number had so much black sticky I was unable to peel it back with tearing it, the money was a compensation payment!Originally posted by The Tech Clerk View PostAuto £25.00 O/D but Barclaycard not available at moment but can try thru Barclaycard site use site no trace it says
as for overdraft a comment - says unable to grant overdraft at present due to no knowledge of income to account etc.

Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
Barclaycard is a separate business to Barclays Bank so it's separate.Originally posted by The Tech Clerk View PostAuto £25.00 O/D but Barclaycard not available at moment but can try thru Barclaycard site use site no trace it says
Basically if you use Barclays to apply for a Barclaycard ALL it does is pre-propagate an application form. You get no preferential treatment (unlike other banks who offer cards)....

I still prefer my Santander account and tbh Natwedt is adecent backup but can't get an OD so rarely use it. I like an OD as a few hundred OD facility on my 10 accounts all adds up so I'd never need a PDL. It's my messy logic lol

(TESCO) cheque for the £30.00 arrived to-day with apologies for the cock ups etc,
very quick response from them as only late last week they phoned me.
seems the main clearing house for Tesco is HSBC as their cheque.

I know Yorkshire are just updating their cards to mastercards and contactless payment, as far as I can see it means bugger all

Re: Barclays upgrade after 12 months!
Opened a Lloyds account month or so ago over from Tesco who messed up on 7 day switch regarding Direct debit to the insurer, failed to action it after one payment caused a hell of a lot of problems and phone calls etc to insurer and them and postage.
Complained and was promised to be sorted == NOT!
Complained again after switching to Lloyds, low and behold after being messed around on the phone few times = getting £30.00 out of Tesco for inconvenience, we shall see.
so moved to lloyds seems o.k.
Curiosity after reading about Barclays I have just tried for a current account and blimey I have just been given one! so will follow up reading see if beneficial items out of it?

Re: Barclays upgrade after 7 years!
they do issue debit cards. I've had a contactless visa debit on both accounts since day one (I called and asked after the normal card arrived)Originally posted by DarkAutumn View PostBarclays are doing this with all their cashcard accounts, I've had one since 2008 which has been useless because you can't use it to buy stuff online or pay in shops so not much point in having the account and I've not bothered using it in all these years because I have other bank accounts with a debit card.
That must be the reason behind Barclays decision to upgrade the accounts to have proper debit cards, who wants a cashcard account.

Ive rarely used it other than to transfer money into / out of.
However read around - people are getting these letters and not being upgraded. MSE sees it a lot and it's not everyone they upgrade, it's usually accounts that hasn't had a single missed payment / charge etc. online betting would also be a barrier to upgrade - letter or not.
