Sad to hear of the untimely passing of Monkees front man Davy Jones, known in the US as the Manchester Cowboy.
As a manufactured for TV band, the Monkees were not considered everyones idea of serious musicians, but hey they certainly made catchy "feel good" tunes to sing along to.
I had the pleasure of meeting Micky Dolenz many years ago when he lived in London, I bought a VW camper van from him, very nice guy, was interested to know I came from a few miles of where Davy was born.
RIP Davy.
