    Re: Rangers FC

Rangers have won more trophies than any other club worldwide - but the problem is we're in the wrong league and thus nobody wants to buy us. Pompey is a better proposition than we are, shockingly.

Look at Man City, imagine anyone thinking they would ever become something, they won't - but after maybe £300m they'll realise that. The owners ought to invest outside of the EPL as that will be the next bubble to burst, and as for us - we probably will not survive this.

I truly hope, as a die-hard fan, than we just slip under and don't come back. Not as things stand. Just quit as the current champions, with more than any other club worldwide and be done with it. We are not a thriving business, a £10m annual loss just aint good enough.

Blame the likes of Sky tv etc for the demise of smaller leagues, they pay us (an old firm game) £300k for the rights, yet Man U v Chelsea for example, both get over £2m each.

    Fair? Fuck right off.

I pay my Sky bill every month just like the English so why should more of my subs go to fund them, it's all bollocks.

Bye Bye Rangers - been a hell of a time but it's the end of the road as we know it

            [QUOTE=Never-In-Doubt;156339] we'll get the 10pt deduction /QUOTE]

I know nothing about football so pardon my ignorance but don't clubs get points based on win, lose or draw? Or can those points get taken away if you've got a poor accountant even though you're brilliant on the pitch

                  PlanB,

Automatic 10 point deduction from your league table if the club enters administration.

Many clubs including my own tend to use administration as the preferred route as it releases frozen bank funds enabling the club to continue with it's football when the HMRC or any other creditor issues a winding up order.

That puts the kibbers on the winding up order as administration takes precedence and gives the club time to appoint an administrator to over see the running of the club and it's debts and find a buyer.

Administration usually takes a period of one year or less after which the club must enter a CONDITIONAL VOLUNTARY ARRANGEMENT (CVA) If it still cannot do this the club will then be liquidated and wound up.

I can see why it's a good debt strategy but I can't see why it should ruin the club's chance of winning a trophy which I always thought was about skill and results. Why penalise the players who've worked their backsides off to win games. And I may add some jolly nice-looking backsides too

                      Re: Rangers FC

Because the actual football is only one side of the club that we see, the other side is the side we don't which all pins on cash to see the club through.

Players I have always maintained are over paid, but then there is as niddy says the other side which is sponsorship which is just as corrupt.

Because part of it is also winning or taking part while being financially responsible. Ruining the club financially in the process would not be good for the club or the sport.

So a penalty for entering insolvency is there to discourage recklessness or mismanagement on the part of the club.

Unfortunate for the players, but that is part and parcel of a team sport.

So it was self-inflicted injury then. I didn't realize that. I thought that maybe they just hadn't sold enough match tickets, and games had been cancelled because of the snow with the pitch being somewhere in Scotland.

But there's so much sponsorship in football. Perhaps the players are individually sponsored which lines their own pockets but doesn't benefit the club in general. I've got a lot to learn about this not-so-beautiful game

Yes the players have image rights written in to there contracts and costs the clubs a fortune.
