    Thanks Boss.
Have received a card through my door from post office'tried to deliver a letter which needs a signature'
I am of a mind not to go to collect it / sign for it as it is most probably bad news of some kind.
Question is would this affect my position if they cant prove delivery of whatever it is...Im assuming notice of impending action.
Or am I going nuts trying to 2nd guess every move ....lol

it might just be a wee parcel or something. I know in Scotland if a summons isn't signed for through the post, it goes back to the court and is then despatched by Sheriff officers ( Scottish Bailiffs) for delivery. so I think if it is nasty its probably not easy to avoid, personally I'd rather know! and it could just be a parcel or something that a friend has forgotten to put enough stamps on. remember knowledge is power

Perhaps it's a cheque for the trouble they've caused.

Probably nothing Matty, try not to worry.

As others have said, its rare for DCA's to send things recorded - especially if you have been in communication with them previously..... see what it is, if it is a baddie, you could always the next batch!

                Update 11-2-2011
                Been to get it -lol
Was from a DCA - first recorded one from one of them for me ....so far.
Nothing to worry myself about after all - was just a letter saying that further to my letter (ac in dispute) my account is on hold whilst they await a response from their client.
Strange that they sent this recorded..

Because you can claim from them if they actively pursue a disputed debt mate - so they wanted to ensure that you got their letter, I do hope you never provided royal mail with your "actual" siggy (ie you changed it, right?)....

Have received a couple of letters from MBNA 1 per ac which are in effect default notices confirming that the account is closed and the credit agreement terminated.
They go on about enforcement, further action etc and that I should seek legal advice.
                          All standard I assume.
                          File?

Matty I received exact same letter in relation to one of my MBNA accounts yesterday too.
Don't think it is anything to get stressed about right now,I have filed mine and will await their next move when it is eventually passed to a DCA.

If it's a termination notice/default notice then fine - no probs, wait and see what they come back with :niddy
