Re: Pookies UE Diary
Hi Pooks,
Pixie is right there, however you could offer a lower figure per month as a start, tell them thats it. Remember that they will have purchased that debt at something like 10p to 12p in the pound. If they don't actually own it by Assignment in Absolute then I would tell them to go and whistle as they could do nothing without the original creditor's involvement. So onwards, if you get them to accept that lower figure, save the difference yourself and in a few months time make them an offer in Full & Final. As a rule of thumb start at the 10% of the outstanding balance and work up in low increments to about 20% (gives them 100% profit on the purchase remember) if they refuse, then take the offer off the table and continue to pay the payments for a few more months and try again. It is more than likely they will come back to the table for a second round at that point stick hard at around 15% and let it rise all so slowly towards the 20 mark again. In the end you are likely to get a 25% settlement I would have thought. Its almost like playing poker.
