  • Re: lookingforward's UE Diary

My daughter had a similar letter last week from Santander to say her balance had been sold to a debt purchaser, in August, did not say who the purchase is and she has had no contact from anyone.

Managed to get this one before she put it in the shredder.
      Received today from Santander.
      16/05/2014 Statement opening balance 2445
      08/08/2014 Net Balance 2445
08/08/2014 Transfer to debt purchaser Credits 2445 Balance 0.00

      No contact from any DCA's
      What is going on?

Looks like they have transferred first overdraft, now credit card. Expecting the big one next which was her loan.

If they didn't tell you the name of the purchaser, the balance outstanding, and who you should pay in future then it's not a proper Notice of Assignment. Oooops.

I had a letter from Santander telling me that they had sold my debt to Arrow Global who never made contact and that was over a year ago
Letter from Santander with a notice of assignment attached. Bal of £XYZ sold to Hoists Portfolio Holding 2 Ltd on 15.10.14. NOI is from Hoists who have appointed RobWay to manage a/c and all future payments to go to them. I should contact them as a matter of urgency to organise payment.

Seems Santander have sold off quite a lot of debts recently, do I wait for robway to contact me or fire off something to them first, possibly a/c sold whilst in dispute ?

As an aside I just noticed that the format of Santander's and robways letters is virtually identical ...wierd

Long time no post on this thread thankfully.

Got a letter from link financial today that has been quiet for a couple of years apart from statments and has previously been advised as UE

The Letter rec’d is asking me to contact to agree an affordable repayment plan. I may be avoiding contact with them but not good because debts are generally registered with a CRA which may affect my ability to get credit from banks cc’s and even utility co’s. Also a paragraph stating that they are sure that when I borrowed the money I had every intention of paying it back and I may want to discuss a new repayment plan that is affordable so I can start making regular payments to my account.

It's been to a couple of dca's who have been batted off but as said nothing for a couple of years other than statements. My gut is telling me to ignore as there's nothing really being threatened other than a bad record and trying to appeal to my concience. but would appreciate any other thoughts if you think that's a bad idea. It will be SB next year.

                              Thx

I would agree with you, wait and see what they send next, it is close to the party season so they may be in need of a few quid for the mince pie from Harrods. xx
