If it is they are the toothless tigers renting their letterhead to Wescot (The Hull Heroes). If you look around that letter and check the small print about payment you will find that the numbers will tally with those of HH's.
We had slightly differing circumstances but we threatened them with action and complaint for breaching the SRA code of conduct on several counts. The alleged account was back in Hull the same day as they signed for the recorded delivery.
I would consider sending them a copy of the previous letter and this one:
>Unenforceability Templates - Section 5

Many thanks.

Just wanted to say thanks for this tip, I'm just starting on my UE journey and want to control the phone to stop stuff like this.
I've switched all the ringers off so that when a call comes through the displays just light up with the incoming number, and the answer machine is switched off so any messages go to BT's 1571 service. My phones allow call blocking too!
Good to see that one year on your journey is going positively. The letter ping-pong must be a pain but the outcome for you looks good so far! My fingers are crossed!
The letter pingpong does slow down and for some of them I couldn't tell you what DCA is looking after some debts off the top of my head as I haven't heard from them in so long.
It does get easier, you just have to stick with it.

Re: Locke's UE diary
Is it really over 2 years since I last posted in this?! How time flies!
Everything has been pretty quiet for a while now and is coming up to 4 years since last payment, however I recently received a letter from Crapquest about an old Halifax Credit Card that Niddy said was unenforceable due to it being a recon stuck together.
So anyway after a few rounds of template tennis which involved me sending the 'sold whilst in dispute' letter and then a 'recon sent letter' I've received a letter that I coulf do with some help with and advice on what to send back.
The main part of their letter states...
LETTER OF CLAIM UNDER THE PRACTICE DIRECTION - PRE ACTION CONDUCT
We regret that you have not responded to our previous letter.
As a result of your failure to respond we must now consider your account for legal action. Your account is being processed through our pre-action validations and checks. This includes compiling data related to your residential and employment status.
Any claim will be issued in the name of Crapquest investments limited and will be for the unpaid balance on the above account. Through the litigation process we will seek a judgement of the court, directing you to pay the monies outstanding. We are not aware of any dispute relating to the account but we are willing to discuss with you any issues related to our claim and to seek to resolve them through alternative dispute resolution methods. Our preferred method is a without prejudice discussion with you or your advisors. We refer you to the practice direction - pre action conduct which provides that parties should exchange information before starting proceedings. Paragraph 4 allows the court to impose sanctions on a party who does not comply with its requirements.
Then more about how I should call them etc...
What is the best way to reply to this? Thank you in advance.

If you don't have access we will give it you, just ask here.
Thank you for your recent letter.
Please find enclosed copies of the documentation previously provided to you, together with a copy of the Notice of Assignment.
Please be advised that a copy of the default notice would have been provided to you at the time the account defaulted. A duplicate copy is not available. It is also unclear what documentation is required in respect of a 'termination notice'.
We are not obliged to provide you with details of any communications between ourselves and Lloyds Banking Group.
We have placed your account on hold until 14 February 2014, and we would be grateful if you would contact us, on or before that date, to confirm how you wish to proceed in respect of this account.
They included with it all letters that they have sent me previously.
How do you think I should proceed?

Re: Locke's UE diary
Well if they do not have a duplicate DN they're kinda buggered if they try to enforce, so I'd just ignore them and see what happens if it was me mateI'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website.
