  • Need to take care if paying DCA for one debt but not others?

    Hi,

Just wondering if there is any care I need to take if arranging to pay a DCA for one debt whist refusing to pay for others?

I am close to time bar for a couple of debts to a DCA but need to arrange to pay a more recent one. I'm just checking they can't 'decide' to allocate my payment to one of the older debts thereby claiming I have acknowledged it? Or any other underhand tactic I might need to worry about? I have flat out ignored the DCA for the older debts for the whole of the 5 3/4 years so far, so it's a shame to have to engage with them at all, but I don't think I have a choice in this instance.

    Many thanks for any help,

How are you going to pay them? Indeed do you need to pay them?

I guess one way might be a standing order from a bank with the correct reference number. That way if they try anything you can say it was paid to this account and not that one.

    Just a thought
