Hi Stan, I think you'll find it's gone a liitle quiet round here of late. Many of the regulars post rarely and a lot of the community feel seems to have gone, which is a shame - I was certainly helped greatly by the knowledge and support I found here about six years ago. If you poke about some of the posts I'm sure you'll get an idea of what happened.

I, and I suspect others, still lurk to keep things ticking along with the hope that things can return to what they once were. We'll see.

However, to get to your question, I suspect that the 'reconnection' letter is an attempt to get you to re-engage; I'm a few months away from SB myself and it looks like I'm just beginning to see similar contacts. If I were in your shoes I'd stick to the default position of no contact until it goes legal, should that ever be the case. See what the 'Reconnection team' send you, and take it from there. I hope you dad has managed to stay not too worried by the situation.

Hopefully we'll see another lurker chime in ... ?

Thanks Night Monkey, shame that the site has gone so quiet. My Dad isn't too stressed, I will keep an eye on what Link send him. I think you are correct that we are getting near to SB date and they are making some final attempts to get him to engage. I'll make sure he doesn't acknowledge the debt, so the clock doesn't get reset.

Yes it's a shame its gone quiet as I've had some great help here. I drop in occasionally but there never seems to be much to comment on.

Anyone that makes a home visit will have no power at all, it's no different to a double glazing salesman knocking. They make the threat of home visits to try and scare people into paying, knowing that a lot of people will think they are bailiffs when they are nothing of the sort. I'd just keep quiet, if they do send an LBS then you can use the lack of a CCA as a defence.

I would say I had lots of debts ranging from 10000k to 1k but most from pre 2007. All now SB even the so called enforceable ones from 2010. Just keep going even if the experts are MIA

              Still lurking here too!

I would say just keep ignoring - it worked well for me so far. Remember, being unenforceable doesn't eradicate the debt or mean they can't still ask you to pay, but they can't take legal action. So let them ask and just ignore! If they should try to take legal action, then you have the golden ticket!
