The thing is Blue, is that we have all probably suffered with guilt of not paying debts back, how I look at it is is that if the OC approached me to pay the same as what they sell them for then I’d be happy to pay them, scraping the money together by whatever means. If they are happy to sell the debt for a significantly reduced rate then why not to me? Why should I pay someone else full price for something when they brought it for a nominal fee? So now I sit and wait for the OC to sell it on and then prolong the time I go to battle with the cretins and leaches thus eating into the SB time.
everyone’s a winner (that needs too be
)

Many thanks for your advice. I will send the letters as advised. To be honest I have felt able to just ignore the calls/text & letters but you are correct I did have an agent call to my home, which increases my anxiety as I have grappled with guilt in the past about not paying these debts back. Do I send just one letter to cover the debts I owe to Cabot or one for each debt please?

If they are contacting you in a way other than that you have asked them to ( In writing) and its causing you anxiety, worry or distress - Its HarassmentOriginally posted by Bluemonday3 View PostThank you. I have been ignoring and filing up to now. Is there any disadvantages to not sending them a letter please? Will it go against me in any way if they do step action up a stage?
So why wouldn't you want to stop them by sending a letter?
If they continue beyond receiving your letter - Then they are into dodgy ground with their behaviour - Behaviour they may have to justify in court if it ever got that far
More likely Behaviour you would no doubt use against them should they decide to escalate things - I certainly would ( And have)
But if you don't send the letter - You wouldn't be able to use it against them - Seems a simple choice to me
I don't see that you have anything to lose by asking then to stop Harassing you

I can see that you have three debts with Cabot so there’s the potential for you to receive three times more texts than if you only had one debt.
They should stop eventually.
But if you feel you’re being harassed then you are being harassed, so the forum’s suggestion to send the template letter in post #91 may stop them in their tracks.
It’s not nice to be harassed, and I think you’ve already had a field agent (doorstep collector) sent to your home by a Cabot, or have I misunderstood a previous post?

excuse my ignorance but is sending any letters to them then classed as 'contact' in terms of going for SB eventually?!

That does sound a bit menacing.
Save those texts just in case.

I don't think they will stop anytime soon, while ever the computer keeps spitting them out!

You will never know what they’ll pursue mainly because they don’t know themselves. What they do is treat every debt the same, by this I mean they send the same template letters!

No worries, I just wondered if they had some kind of pattern to their actions

nobody can predict their moves as nothing consistent generally

Thank you for the support & advice as always. I just wondered if there was any debt they are more likely to pursue than others in terms of value or do they chase all debts the same. My naive brain wonders if they are less likely to pursue the smaller debt than the larger one but like I say I am pretty green when it comes to this!
