Hi everyone :-)
I've only recently discovered this site and there is some excellent information on here that's really given me the confidence to try to tackle head on my debts. I have been on a DMP with SC for approximately 8 years and still, at the rate I'm currently paying, have another 15+ years to go. My debt when I first started my DMP was in excess of £115k and now stands at around £80k. I am however not finding my monthly payments easy and, if I'm honest, have of late started to feel quite bitter towards my creditors as I don't believe someone on the salary I was earning (approx £20k per annum) should have been (very willingly) given over £120k worth of credit. I am now feeling that my creditors should assume some responsibility for this - although I obviously take responsibility for using the money and getting myself way in over my head. Unfortunately a divorce and trying to keep a roof over my young daughters head caused me to build the debt up through living and then "robbing Peter to pay Paul".
I believe that the majority of my debts are pre-2007 and I am therefore very keen to ascertain their enforceability which will hopefully enable me to offer some low F&F's to try and get debt free quicker. I am also aware that those that are unenforceable could potentially be ignored but that worries me.... Also I have just made my last payment via SC and will be notifying them that I am self-managing going forward.
I will try and remember as many of the details as possible but some may not be 100% accurate as it is now quite a while ago. Updated: I've added as much info as I can at the moment and will update any more as I find it.
