Re: Question about Halifax response to CCA request

    Hello,

Back again, over a year later!

Got a letter on 24th January from Halifax stating my debt has been sold back to Wescott!

Now, I just thought screw them as it's already been sold to Wescott and I sent them all the necessary letters and they ended up gaving it back to Halifax again. This was all back in 2010 / early 2011 as you can see from all the posts above.

Fastforward to today and I just received a voicemail on my work phone from Wescott asking me to call them. I'm still at work so there might be a letter from them at home but I certainly haven't had any since the letter from Halifax.

Just wondering what I should do now? Wait for a letter or get in there first with a pre-emptive strike?

    Many thanks

    Lee

EDIT - Niddy, I'll email you the letter shortly

Re: Question about Halifax response to CCA request

I just remembered about the OCR feature when scanning PDFs so here is the gist of the letter (this also accounts for any weird errors in the text!):

      Reference: Halifax Credit Card

      Account No.

respective sights, title and interest in respect of the above referenced account (including the
outstanding balance) to Wescot SPV Ltd, effective 30 November 2011.

The total balance sold was £7,709.06, as at the date of sale 7' September 2011. Any
payments made towards your account after the 7th September will be forwarded to Wescot
SPV Ltd and will be deducted fiom the balance shown above.

Under the terms of this assignment, and as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998, Wescot
SPV Ltd, is now the Data Controller of your Personal Data contained in the records of this
      account.

Wescot Credit Services Ltd has been appointed by Wescot SPV Ltd, to manage your account
and it is essential that all future payments and correspondence regarding this account be
      directed to:

Thanks mate, I'll see what's waiting for me at home then

In the meantime how can I stop them calling me at work?

The first time I went though this with them I explicitly stated, in letter, that I did not want to be contacted at work and quoted some Ofcom stuff. This stopped it until they sold it back to Halifax... but now their doing it again.

As you've not been avoiding them, and responding to each letter with a letter they are in breach of OFT Guidelines so you could report it to the FOS as this is their remit, or just see what happens after you send the letter as advised above by I2D.

Keep us updated, if it continues I'll sort you a "nicer" get lost letter to send them
