NO! What they are doing is quite bad...... they mislead the consumer into believing nonsense.

We are 100% against it because we win enough using case law and legislation - they lose (we rarely do) - hence no case law about their methods, cos it's just that -

I can't read anymore of their posts and letters they are putting up , they are saying the debts are wiped out when i pointed out to them that the letter isn't saying that at all, i clearly says the debt remains but they are closing the account .

One of my debts with Lowell was closed in January and all is quiet with them all for now haven't heard anything for months

Ah, the 3 letter crock of shite. I wouldn't waste time trying to reason and just let them carry on. As for the claims that it works cos lowells have written many off - if lowell have no paperwork to go to court with, the nutters who spout the 3 letter bollox would probably achieve the same result by sending a letter saying "my mummy says I don't need to pay you without valid paperwork so ner, ner, ner ner, ner".

That's what is worrying about them they are still posting letters with balances wiped out from Lowell .
I don't trust it at all but i'm not going to mention it again as i get the impression i am trying to dampen their enthusiasm

Let's not forget here there's only one common law court in the UK and quite frankly every other county court doesn't really recognise it's relevance or authority. While there may be little to some truth in part of what they talk about, majority of it will not stand up in court and you would be laughed at along with a heavy costs bill. Estoppel isn't a simple case of "if you don't do this and that then you are barred from enforcing" there's a lot more to it. They have been lucky so far. That is all. I wouldn't chance it on a 10k debt. Let's not forget our friends at GOODF who when asked couldn't even explain the difference between consumer credit legislation and the bills of exchange act. Be very cautious

I have had a £5,000 balance written off by Lowells, primarily as they were unable to provide any information from the creditor.

They said they felt I was liable, but had taken a business decision.

That happened with my husband's orange phone account and then they sold it on but Niddy wrote them a nice letter :
