Every debt is different but from what I read they are not in the 1st division of scarey ones.

Moorcroft. Don't be concerned, they are as amateur as the rest. I've had four or five dealings with them and they always give in through selling on or stopping writing., Good luck with it, remember they only pursue the easy money - not the law!

Does anyone have any experiences of Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd?

I or we have sent letters to BH requesting more evidence/details of the alleged amount that I owe. There are big discrepancies , and we have had no explainations. They have answered by sending my account to Moorcroft DCA who threaten to advise BH to take me to court if I don t sent them some money.

I have read enough on here ( and with my b f support too) to take a deep breath before I panic and react like I have done in the past.

So can anyone relate to these people ? I want answers surely before I send money?

Firstly, I hope you don't really mean what you say in your thread title, as aiding and abetting suicide is a criminal offence .

I don't have any direct experience of Moroncrap, but I do have several years of experience of helping people cope with them on debt forums. They are fundamentally useless, and if I was in your position I would be highly encouraged by the fact that the original alleged creditor has chosen to farm this out to a useless organisation instead of heading for court.

I would start by sending Moroncrap one of these -

There appears to be some doubt as to whether or not this is actually regulated. Well, if people with brain cells are confused, what are Moroncrap going to be?

Thank you so much, as I was panicing this morning, but coming on here reassures me to keep going, BH have had well over the price of the vehicle from me, and they are chasing the charges now. I am an easy money, or I was until I retired and my partner stepped in to stop me money feeding them.Also there are so many irregularities with my complaint, and they just won t answer my questions so ,,, they get no more money from me.

This site and one or two others empower people like me, and it serves these people right..

I have only read through this thread quickly but what a nightmare for you!! I very much doubt however that BH will fancy their arm in court with this providing they know you'll put up a fight; hence why they keep farming this out to tinpot DCAs, who are "instructed" to do this and that on behalf of BH. Big deal.... it's done to intimidate and scare you, that's all.

You're starting to fight back after many years and BH can now see this. My advice to you would be to draft a out a new formal complaint using CPUTR (2008). If BH then continue to mislead you and/or be evasive about agreements, figures, calculations and anything else that's gone on over the past 10 years, it puts you in a much stronger position should they decide to pursue you further.

My gut feeling is that they won't but as you've been fairly easy to bully for all these years, it's going to take a while for them to stop farming it out, admit defeat and write it off (sell it). Unfortunately, this usually means that the debt then gets bought by a different tinpot agency instead but the stronger your paper trail; ie. fighting back, the closer you get to a stand-off.

They haven't answered at all.... I doubt they'd be happy putting any kind of explanation/breakdown onto paper, to be honest.... so this will be as good as it gets unless you pin them down for specifics.

As for Moorcroft, I've dealt with them on 3 separate occasions. No worries there hun....

Thank you again Priority, I was in a very different place back then, and I do think now I was shafted primarily by my ex and the dealer, though I think BH should of been more responsible, I also think they know more than they let on. Having said that it is now ten years back. MY BF is so supportive and stands between me and their harassment, looking back I feel so sorry for me then.

Well I am taking in all the advice here and my BF does think we have them on the run as he puts it, and we have sent a letter to Moorcrap, asking them for evidence of their assignment. Also we are thinking of writing to the director of BH, ( not that it will achieve anything but you never know) and I will look at that template you advised.

Paper trail yes, I just want closure on this, money back would be nice but I just want to close that part of my life....

Thanks.... we have been specific btw.... I have 2 invoices or agreements.... one for the part exchange saying the price of the new vehicle is £23500, and balance to pay is £10,500
This was signed by my ex ( only come to light more recently

The agreement I signed was for £28,500 plus £10,000 interest and charges

We have asked for an explanation to the difference in the calculations, which was the reply of being palmed off to Moorcrap...

There's a big difference between asking for specifics and issuing a formal complaint about their apparent reluctance to provide answers to specifics. Make a list of all the specifics you want answered and go from there. Don't send a complaint off before having it checked out on here first though....

Passing your account to Moorcroft is a waste of everyone's time; they have no legal powers whatsoever and can't answer any of your queries, so there's no need to you to stress about them. If they try and get you by phone, just hang up.

Sorry P 1 >>> I am not being clear... I have gone through formal complaint... FO ...FLA ( no help and jut referred me to consult one another or a solicitor ) sent CCA and SAR.... which is where I am at now... There are documents that are not available to me, and mistakes in the calculations, a solicitor friend suspects fraud .... Niddy said I d been shafted, which I quite agree..

I have stopped paying until they can prove I owe them >>>> I am after and explanation of the difference in the part exchange deal and the amount on the agreement. One I signed, one my ex signed ... although they have chopped the signature off... I know its his....They have not replied to this, but have put my account in the hands of Moorcrap... but reading the comments on here, it seems that I have not much to worry about them.

I do appreciate all you say to me though and I adapt it to my stupid complicated problem...

Having re read your comment.... I will post the specifics on here, but I have already asked for them in the complaint I sent to BH several months ago...

The difference in the two parts of the agreement is my main concern as it stinks of corruption somewhere.

These are the specific details we find are not answered in the SAR and have not been answered in the formal complaint we sent to BH a few months ago.

• I enclose a copy of the Don Amott Leisure Ltd sales agreement no.9719 23 March 2001, signed by and addressed to [ We only have a copy of this and request a further copy identifying the signature more clearly.

• Also enclosed is the Black Horse agreement no 0204/51108925/4 (customer copy) which shows the amount to pay as £28000.00 plus interest, and no part exchange allowances. And signed by Don Amott Representative

• Why is there a difference between the two agreements on the balance to pay? £17,500.00 is unaccountable between the sales invoice and your agreement? Would you explain this please?

• I also enclose a copy of Black Horse agreement 020413/51108925/4 (customer 2nd copy). Why does the vat and the basic purchase fee vary between this agreement and the previous one?


• I would also like a copy of the invoice you received from the Measham auction, January 2004 for a CI Granducia 171 Fiat Ducato Reg. [It came onto the account on 26th January 2004.
