    Re: Help and advice please

Just to let you know that Cabot have just informed me that they will no longer try to enforce a CC debt for over £8,000 as there is no paperwork.

what do you mean "contact details" - contact details for whom?

Oh, don't you know whom you owe money to?

Ok, well try and get the details back and hold DMP action for now.....

Usually with a DMP you need to cancel it if you consider UE as they cannot pick and choose debts, they need to deal with all debts under the same dmp. Point is it's daft sorting half the debts out, so if you utilise UE then you're best cancelling the dmp anyway.

Well that's what I would do - put it that way

                  Thanks.
Yes I have cancelled the DMP and although I know how much each company claims that i owe them, I do not have the most uptodate contact details.

Ok, we could have supplied them or a simple google search will provide it but if you'd rather wait for accurate details, so be it.... keep us updated.

                      Re: Help and advice please

When I was in a DMP the creditors passed my account to various DCAs so I had trouble keeping up with who was chasing me for what as the DMP people often didn't even bother to tell me about the switch, so it's a good idea to get up-to-date details from 'John'.

When I cancelled my DMP I asked them to send me a copy of my file so I now have all those letters of acceptance of my pathetic payments sent to them by creditors which can be useful if the OC ever gets nasty and you can produce to the court an agreement in place in writing

Thanks Plan B that's exactly the situation I am in now. I do not want to waste my time and money writing to DCA's that no longer deal with it.

                          Re: Help and advice please

Also ask your DMP to forward any mail they get from creditors or DCAs on your behalf once you've cancelled. In my expereience as soon as you miss a payment the creditor or DCA will write to the DMP not you - because they've been told not to contact you by the DMP in the past. I doubt your DMP will write to each creditor to advise them that they are no longer handling you as a client. They never do.

UE is about keeping your eye on the ball and learning when to ignore and when to react to a creditor or DCA. It's like playing Russian Roulette at times too, but it does work

                              Excellent news!

Through how many body orifices have you told them to whistle Dixie before you'll give them any more?
