It is worth considering Unenforceability (UE), and I agree that this needs to be weighed up against a PPI reclaim. Bear in mind that the tradeoff/comparison will of course involve the amounts expected from either route - but must be considered with the likelihood of success with either route, along with any associated risks involved. I believe you have some good UE experience to listen to here in AAD, and I hope we can give you a good PPI scenario to compare that with. "May the best man win," as they say !!!
But let's get MS Works or OpenOffice running on your daughter's PC, first. This will 'enable' you - and us - to evaluate things properly, I think.
