I think it also has to be remembered that all the credit card companies particularly Barclaycard have been turning business away in droves. I understand at its peak during this recession up to 75% of applications for credit cards have been turned down on the the most tenuous reasons.

It has to be remembered on the other side of the coin that BC it is estimated have about 50% of unsustainable unenforceable agreements on their hands which is a lot of debt to have to write off. Whose fault is that? Ours I am glad to say, ordinary folks standing up for their rights under the law.

If, and it is a big if, everyone in the country stopped paying their credit cards for three months the banks would very quickly toe our line. The income streams from these cards were sold out to offshore investors the day you took the cards out and the banks have to pay those debts regardless of you and I under a scheme known as "securitisation". In my view a tax evasion scam.

So in this case having followed the thread from post 1, I would not worry. the longer the young lady stays away from the "slavery" yoke of a bank the better for her and her future life. She would be better advised to stop applying for credit and getting refused as already said here as this will affect her CRFs despite my (and others on AAD) utter contempt for such.

            regards
            Garlok
