  • Proof of ID required by Debt Collector

    Hi,
A CCA request was sent to a Debt Collection Company on 7th January 2019. Today (24th January a letter was received from the Debt Collection Company asking to phone their office and provide proof of identity. The CCA request submitted included name and address and identified the Loan Account. The debt collection agency have requested telephone call to confirm name, address and proof of addresses lived at for at least 15 years. Considering the Debt Collection Company have written to the address on at least 2 occasions since 1st January 2019 how should their request be treated.

And you have proof they received the CCA request (plus £1)? This Means in Law they are in default and cannot enforce until they supply a Valid CCA.
